About Piker Ray

My fishing over the last couple of years has also taken me to both Ireland, and Scotland, with trips recently to France. I also like to fish for Carp & Catfish and will be taking further trips shortly again to France and the River Ebro in Spain.

My personal best fish are as follows:

Pike 28lb 10oz
Zander 15lb 2oz
Catfish 91lb
Eel 4lb 10oz
Bream 6lb
Carp 48 lb

I have been involved in fishing for the past thirty years, starting in the usual manner catching Roach and Perch, until one day on the bank, I saw an angler catch a Carp of about 18lb, which as a 15 Year old looked very big indeed and I wanted to catch one. Seeing that Carp brought me into the Specimen Sport and I stayed in the Carp fraternity for about 8 years doing long sessions on Wraysbury No1 Pit and a few other Big Pits, this was quite easy for me because at that time I was single. I moved off the Carp fishing and concentrated on Catfish and Zander in the Summer month's before getting involved in Pike particularly in the winter month's and became more interested in the sport as time wore on. I got involved in Zander fishing quite by accident because at a Conference back in 1987 in Loughboro I met Steve Younger who was fishing for them at the time, and we began to meet up on the Cambridgeshire and Norfolk Fens using various methods to catch Zander.

In my Predator webpages I have tried to convey various articles, methods, tackle & photo's of both Pike and Zander captures involving a few of my friends. I will try and keep the site as up to date as possible.

My other activities are Photography, Videography and Fishkeeping. I have a Large Koi Pond at home which brings me onto my other interest which is Koi fish, I won't go into detail but if you are interested then you can see more on the subject in my Hobby section.
