Fishing Methods - Float Ledger

An adaptation of the Straight Ledger rig, the Float Ledger rig is useful on snaggy bottoms. You can switch quickly to and from the Straight Ledger to the Float Ledger set-up, which should save you losing tackle. The Float Ledger set up copes well with areas prone to loosing tackle and if fished overdepth presents resistance free baits for zander. The small bottom-end Slider Float is sensitive to show those often subtle takes that you can expect from zander if fished on a really tight line.

A variation on the Float Ledger set-up. This can be quickly and easily changed to a ledger rig. Just dispense with float, stop knot and float stop beads.

Another variation on the Float Ledger set-up using a safety patenoster to limit potential tackle loss. Note the bomb link which is longer than the hook trace and most importantly weaker than the main line.
