A guy called Simon recently got in contact by email and asked if we would be interested in some information on fly fishing for Pike and Zander. Obviously we are.

Part of his email read:

Fly fishing is a recognised method and is very productive, I was part of the group that fished Menteith on a trial for the fishery. 16 of us fished for four hours each night on two consecutive evenings, from 6 until 10. We caught 102 pike between us, all on the fly. Best fish were 26lbs, 22lbs, 20lbs a couple at 18lbs another couple at 17lbs - the rest were usual spread of sizes. It was very windy, and many of those fishing could not cope with the conditions. We had 50 of those 102 pike in our boat - simply because we could cast in the strong wind.
